Alicia Keys Finds "Freedom" W/ Jay-Z & Drake, New Album Tracklising Revealed
Grammy-winning singer Alicia Keys has decided to add a hip-hop element to her upcoming The Element of Freedom album by securing guest slots from Drake and Jay-Z.
Along with Jay and Drizzy, Keys has also enlisted Hov's wife, Beyonce Knowles.
Earlier this month, Alicia Keys said since her album, The Element of Freedom, was pushed back from Dec. 1 to Dec. 15, she used the additional time to work on possibly "the most exciting collaborations of my career yet." Now her label, J Records, confirms the album includes a duet with Beyonce as well as one with newcomer Drake. "Put It In A Love Song" features Beyonce, while "Unthinkable (I'm Ready)" has background vocals by Drake.
The album's tracklisting has also been released to the public.
"Element of Freedom" (Intro) "Love Is Blind" "Doesn't Mean Anything" "Try Sleeping with a Broken Heart" "Wait Til You See My Smile" "That's How Strong My Love Is" "Un-thinkable (I'm Ready)" featuring Drake "Love Is My Disease" "Like the Sea" "Put It in a Love Song" featuring Beyonce Knowles "This Bed" "Distance and Time" "How It Feels to Fly" "Empire State of Mind (Part II) Broken Down"
Speculation on a Drake collaboration landed online earlier this month.
The "Best I Ever Had" hitmaker is reportedly featured on a song from Keys' fourth album The Element of Freedom, due December 15. Her longtime producer Kerry "Krucial" Brothers broke the news on Twitter. "'If you have something to say... U should say it right now,'" he wrote, possibly quoting the unnamed song's lyrics. "Wow this new Ak and Drake is fire! I love my job."
A rep from Keys' camp confirmed Hov's guest appearance on the forthcoming project.
Jay-Z and Alicia Keys couldn't contain their enthusiasm for New York to one song, so the pair have decided to team up again for a sequel to their hometown anthem. Keys will include "Empire State of Mind Part 2" on December's The Element of Freedom. The sequel will feature a new verse from Jay, a rep for Keys confirmed to MTV News. The first version of the song was featured on Jay's Blueprint 3 album, and the duo performed the track at the Video Music Awards and before game two of the World Series.
The Element of Freedom drops Tuesday, December 15th.
