Lloyd Lays His Cards Out, Announces "King Of Hearts" LP
Former Murder Inc. artist Lloyd has announced that his debut Interscope Records album will be called King of Hearts.
Making the announcement on Twitter, Lloyd informed followers of his fourth album's title.
"This is going to be the name of my next album/masterpiece..."
"King Of Hearts"
"Release date.. Unknown"
"All my QUEENS, attach a heart ? to your tweet and I'll post it on my page. KING OF HEARTS."
Earlier this year, Lloyd hinted at being in the studio working on a new album.
"Me and Polow [da Don] started it off a couple months ago, laying the foundation. I'm going in with the The Runners and Jim Jonsin again, and I've been talking to Swizz and Dr. Dre about getting in. No features yet."
After announcing a move from Murder Inc. to Interscope, Lloyd said there was no initial need to force out an album.
"I don't feel the need to rush to release an album. It'll be out later this year. I got a couple of title options, but I'm not 100 percent sure yet," he explained. "I love the way Interscope gets down. I love the way Jimmy [Iovine, label head] gets down. I've always had a good working relationship with Polow [da Don, producer]. Having that creative partner is something I wanted to have, since the very beginning, to have that one creative partner. Mike [Jackson] had it with Quincy [Jones], Janet [Jackson] had it with Jimmy [Jam] and Terry [Lewis]. Justin has it with Timbaland. I feel that me and Polow have something special. I'm really looking forward to that. I also admire Jimmy [Iovine] as a producer. He loves producers. He's got Will.I.Am, Dr. Dre, Polow, the Neptunes, Timbaland. That's what he does. I'm looking forward to it."
The album will be his follow-up to 2008's Lessons in Love.
Debuting at No. 7, R&B sensation Lloyd surprised many selling a cool 51,000 in his first week on the charts. The singer's third album Lessons In Love features special guests including hip-hop superstar Ludacris while his Lil' Wayne assisted hit single "Girls Around the World" continues to hit radio airwaves across the country.
