Diddy, Jim Jones, Jae Millz Remember Drug Kingpin Rich Porter [Video]
New York rappers Diddy, Jim Jones and Jae Millz have paid homage to the memory of late Harlem drug kingpin Rich Porter on his 45th birthday.
Writing via Twitter, Puff Daddy remembered the infamous New York figure.
"Happy Rich Porter Day in Harlem! Much Respect to a stand up guy! Harlem make some noise!!!!," he wrote Monday (July 26) morning.
Harlem-bred emcee Jae Millz reflected on Porter's legacy.
"Happy Rich Porter Day!! RIP to 1 of the best that ever did it out of #Harlem & most of all, He NEVER SNITCHED on NOBODY!! RIP"
"In the memory of Rich Porter.. I, Jarvis Mills promise 2 Stay fly, Stay abt my money, Stay Harlem & Never be a #Pouput FaRealB"
"Cleanliness is next 2 Godliness" -Rich Porter"
Jim Jones hit up Twitter and also made a TwitVid in Porter's memory.
"All the balloons, we're on 132nd street in Harlem right now," Jones said in his video. "R.I.P. Rich Porter, it's his birthday. This is what we do, it's a Harlem thing. I don't know where y'all at but I know we're we at though. You heard me? [We're] about to let these wishes up in the sky. The ghost baby."
In 2009, Jones began working on his Ghost of Rich Porter mixtape.
"When it comes to Rich Porter, he was a very instrumental person from Harlem as far as the days of hustling. He set the precedent for my generation coming up. Watching the hustlers, the fast cars, pretty girls, and the fast money and things like that. And the story that goes behind it as far as the love and the betrayal. This is Harlem history. So, you know for the Diplomats, me, Juelz, Zeke and Cam, coming up and being instrumental in Harlem right now, it's like synonymous to the life we live. We do business and we're rapping, but this is pretty much the fast life of the entertainment industry."
Rich Porter was fatally killed in the early 1990's.
