Styles P Says LOX/Diddy Deal Not Finalized, "We Ain't Signed To Puff Yet" [Audio]
Styles P recently revealed that The LOX have not yet inked a contract for their one-album record deal with former label head Diddy.
Styles also confirmed producer Dame Grease would have an active role on the forthcoming group project.
"Ain't nobody vocal, we ain't signed to Puff yet," Styles told radio host Jenny Boom Boom. "We LOX and even if we was, I think everybody respects us to know we do what we do. It's still possible, it's still possible, you know paper work is paper work. It's like y'all job, it ain't official until you sign the contract, right? Nobody's saying it's 'not' a go, but nothing's a go until the contract is signed and I don't know what other way to tell you than that. It's not a go until everything is inked down. Dame Grease is gonna be on it [producing,] we looking to work with all kinds of hot producers."
Earlier this month, Grease announced his involvement with the new LOX album.
"It's official, actually, Kiss asked me personally," Grease revealed in an interview. "This was before they were gonna take it to Puffor wherever because the thing is, just checking statistics like the success that we had with The LOX, we all had together and sold 1.5, 2 million records...That was then, but we put the same formula and into the future music."
Last January, Styles P said a reunion with Diddy for the album's release was probable.
"It looks like it's gonna happen," Styles said in an interview about reuniting with Bad Boy. "All the paperwork is right and everything makes sense. Business-wise, it's just a one-off. One album. You know, we gonna do what we gonna do."
Sheek Louch also addressed speculation that the Bad Boy CEO would be working with them.
"I got an answer for that, I really think I got an answer," Sheek said about the forthcoming album. "Yo word up, top of the year, Lox album is coming. I would love for it to come then, we're working actually with Puff, with Sean Combs. We working out that. Puff Daddy, we working that out. We working that out and hopefully it goes down. It's gonna be Interscope/Bad Boy/D-Block. Oh yo, slash Ruff Ryders, I'm sorry, I can't leave my boys out. It's like a big thing because we still Interscope. We still Ruff Ryders. It'll be a nice thing."
No further album details have been revealed as of now.
