Rap veterans Jadakiss and Common have announced the upcoming release of their own solo underground projects.
Writing via Twitter, Jada informed his followers about the forthcoming Champ Is Here Part 3 record being in the woks.
"YO LETS START THIS TRENDING TOPIC #THECHAMPISHERE3 AH-HAA!!," he wrote late Saturday (March 27) night. "HARDEST MIXTAPE OF 2010 #THECHAMPISHERE3 #THECHAMPISHERE3 LETS GET THIS TRENDING TOPIC GOIN D-BLOCK!!! #THECHAMPISHERE3 WHO YALL WANNA HEAR ON THERE WIT ME? #THECHAMPISHERE3 MAY 1ST AFTER THE MAYWEATHER FIGHT #THECHAMPISHERE3 LETS GET THIS TRENDING TOPIC!! While not as specific as Kiss, Common also hit up Twitter to announce a new mixtape.
"been in the studio a lot this week. releasing a mixtape soon. it's gonna be crazy! keep posted for it.," he wrote.
Rap veteran Scarface is currently prepping the release of his first-ever underground project called Dope Man Music.
"I'm a free agent," he said in an interview. "I always wanted to drop a mixtape on my own. So I just said, 'Let's drop an independent mixtape.' I feel that I should be as an adult and musician and pioneer -- that's what they call me...I feel that I need to move on to another stage with the way I deliver my music to the public. I got a lot of sh*t and I'm using about three percent of what I know about music. I'm not using it all. I'm music. I can play that sh*t long enough for a real musician to catch it and feel me, where I'm going, and we make magic like that."
Jada's Champ Is Here Part 2 dropped online around February 2009.
Sorry for the thousand posts today, I promise this will be the last. Being served up as a prelude to The Last Kiss, this mixtape is actually a sequel to the tape Jadakiss and Green Lantern put out in 2005, The Champ Is Here. If this one is anything like the last, then we are in for a real treat.
