Soulja Boy Tell Em Refutes Probation Reports, "I Did Go To Court But I Just Had To Pay A Fine"

Teen rapper Soulja Boy Tell Em has refuted recent reports that claimed he was given probation after fleeing from police during an October 2009 video shoot in Georgia.

According to the rapper, news outlets were reporting inaccurate claims.

"I just want to let everybody know that I didn't get probation," he explained in an interview. "That was like a news blast that was everywhere. I know there's like 12 months probation going around, but I just want to let all my fans know that I ain't got no record. I ain't got no probation or nothing. I did go to court, but I just had to pay a fine so I'm not on probation."
Reports last month said he also was required to pay a $1,000 fine.

SB ran from Henry County police after authorities raided a home in McDonough, Georgia where he was allegedly filming a video. His "A"zz took off running as an officer walked up to the house and was arrested when he came back moments later. He's now been sentenced in the case. No worries kiddies. SB won't have to spend time in the clink. His punishment for running like a punk? A year's probation and a $1,000 fine. Such a cheap price for street cred.
The incident took place last October.

Soulja Boy was charged with obstruction after telling officers that people gathered at an abandoned Georgia house were shooting a music video. Henry County Police Capt. Jason Bolton said Friday that when officers arrived Wednesday night to investigate complaints, almost half of the 40 people assembled fled by foot. Later, a man identified as DeAndre Cortez Way, Soulja Boy's real name, returned and said the group was shooting a video. Way was charged with obstruction and bonded out of the Henry County jail on Thursday. A telephone call to his publicist was not immediately returned.
