Snoop Dogg On Touring W/ Comedian Mike Epps, "I Had To Find Somebody I Could Match"

West Coast rap veteran Snoop Dogg has explained why he decided to team-up with comedian Mike Epps for their upcoming Imagine That Tour.

According to Snoop, the actor/comedian's credentials match up with his.

"Mike Epps is exceptional," Snoop said. "He's the equivalent to Snoop Dogg in comedy. People love him. They respect his comedy, his views, his vision. He's not too political, he's not too raunchy. He's not too offensive. When you say Mike Epps, people laugh. They smile. They associate him with funny. When you say Snoop Dogg, people get excited and start singing songs and thinking about certain moments in time when certain records took them to the next day. I had to find somebody who I could match and who could match me as far as putting my show with his show and making our show -- a show of all shows that people could talk about for years."
In a previous interview, Snoop pointed out that they have past history together.

Snoop and Epps will combine their stage skills to tell the story of two incarcerated nightclub performers who have to make their way out of prison. The "Dogg Father" discussed their motivation for the project saying, quote, "We've worked together in the past on some projects and knew that our audiences would love to see us bring hip-hop music and hip-hop comedy together on stage." Snoop Dogg and Mike Epps' "Imagine That!" tour will get underway April 27th at Harrah's Rincon Casino in San Diego.

Epps has also shared his reaction to the touring opportunity.

"This is an incredible opportunity to combine our similar, but different worlds of entertainment together on stage for the first time," he said in a statement.

The comedian spoke with SOHH last year about recruiting Snoop for his Funny Bidness album.

"Funny Bidness album is off the hook," Epps promised. "I'm being genuine. I'm being genuine, off the hook, [it's] funny. The music is good, I got Snoop Dogg on it, Flo Rida, and you know, to say, if those guys get on a song, it gotta be good. So you know what I mean, in my opinion, I think I did a good job and I'm pretty hard on myself, so. Yeah, you know, it's kinda like how Ludacris and them guys are, they, Eminem and stuff, they really be funny in them songs. You know what I mean? So yeah, [there's] 14 songs."
