Kanye West Falls In Love W/ Taraji P. Henson On Upcoming "Cleveland Show" Appearance

Grammy-winning rapper Kanye West will get animated with actress Taraji P. Henson an upcoming "Cleveland Show" television episode.

According to reports, the duo's episode will air this spring on Fox.

Kanye West has kept a fairly low profile in recent months, but soon you'll be able to catch him -- or at least his animated alter ego -- in the May 2 episode of Fox's "Family Guy" spin-off "The Cleveland Show." You can see the first official image of West's guest spot in the new issue of EW, on stands today, or check it out right here in this post. In the episode, the rap megastar voices a 19-year-old local hero named, er, 'Kenny West,' who gets into a lopsided rhyme battle with the show's 'Cleveland Brown, Jr.' over the affections of a young woman who's voiced by Taraji P. Henson.

The show's co-creator has also confirmed Ye's involvement on the teen to adult-targeted series.

"We knew that Kanye was a 'Family Guy' fan," 'Cleveland Show' co-creator Rich Appel tells the Music Mix. "He's made reference to it on his website and stuff. In the writers' room, we just thought it would be great to have him as a character on the town. So we came up with the story. He really liked it and said, 'Sure!'"

Ye reportedly clocked in his recording sessions last March.

Kanye capped off a week of work at FOX in Los Angeles Thursday (March 12) by sitting in on a table read of new series. spent three hours in the studio laying down his voice as not-so-mega-star rapper Kenny West. "Before we came to the table there was only one line he didn't love and he came up with another idea and in a completely modest, nice way said, 'Would you mind if I changed just this one line,'" executive producer Richard Appel said. "And our feeling was, how many raps have we written? One? And how many has he written? Be our guest!"

The show is a spin-off of popular "Family Guy" character 'Cleveland Brown.'

"The Cleveland Show" is a new animated series following everyone's favorite soft-spoken neighbor Cleveland Brown (voiced by Mike Henry) to his hometown in Virginia, as he settles down with his high school sweetheart, her unruly kids and his 14 year-old son, Cleveland Jr. (voiced by Kevin Michael Richardson).

No further details have been revealed as of now.
