Diddy Headed To "American Idol" Next Week, "Tune In Folks!!"

Rap mogul Diddy has announced that he will be heading to the reality television music competition "American Idol" next week.

Writing through his Twitter page, the rapper/producer said he would be performing on the program.

"Live on the American Idol stage, its the D.I.D.D.Y.. Its Diddy!! Next Wed March 31st!! Tune in folks!! RT Pls.," he wrote Thursday (March 25).

Diddy will be performing an uptempo song from his forthcoming album.

Sean "Diddy" Combs and Dirty Money's Last Train to Paris has been slow to leave the station. But with a release date of June 22, the man with the billboard in Times Square continues to live the American Dream, performing "Hello, Good Morning" on FOX's American Idol Wednesday next week. Featuring T.I. and his Dirty Money damsels, the uptempo cut will also receive major spins throughout the NCAA Tournament.

Usher also made an appearance on the show this season.

The performance will follow Tuesday's soul and R&B theme, during which Usher will be responsible for mentoring the contestants. Never one to sing and split, will Diddy take the live performance opportunity to pitch himself as the new Simon Cowell? Does the hip-hop impresario belong on the "Idol" stage? What do you think?

There are also reports that Diddy may be in line to replace the show's stand-out judge, Simon Cowell.

Well this season of American Idol came with some very disappointing news, and that was what Simon Cowell will be ending his run on American Idol after season 9. Simon has been the face of American Idol since the very start of the show. Online bettors can get in on the action early by placing a wager on who they think will make a good "Simon". Piers Morgan +200 Sean "Diddy" Combs +500 Quincy Jones +500 Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds +500 Conan O'Brien +500
