Dipset Producer On "Salute" Reunion Track, "Cam'ron [Called] Telling Me He Needed A Diplomat Single"

Dipset producer AraabMuzik has come forward to speak on putting together the Cam'ron and Jim Jones reunion record, "Salute."

The producer claims Jim and Cam both received the beat about a month ago.

"I had gave him the beat, but I didn't think nothing of it. Cam already had that beat in his email before Jim. Cam was like, 'Alright f*ck it kid, I guess I'll just do the hook and a quick verse on it.' And then ever since then, Jim's been hooked. He's always been calling Cam or Duke up to bring me back over there to play some more sh*t...I got the call from Cam maybe last month telling me that he needed a Diplomat single and saying that they were all working on a single. So I guess this joint is now the single, 'cause all three of them are on it. I'm not sure if that joint is gonna be on the album."

Last month, Dipset's "Salute" reunion track debuted on New York radio station Hot 97.

Of course, the big homie Funkmaster Flex got to drop the bombs on the first song from the reunited Diplomats, he played it tonite on his Friday night Hot 97 show. And even though I missed the commotion while watching Ip Man 2, thankfully both Jimmy and Cam sent me the CDQ of the song, because I've been waiting to hear this too!....and share with you. Even though its still early yet, I'm definitely proud to see the progress. Big up to Jim Jones for persevering, Killa Cam for allowing, and Juelz for joining...Dipset 2010!

The Dip's Freekey Zekey recently stepped up to take responsibility for reuniting his crew.

"I done grabbed up Killa, snatched up Juelz, called Jim, we all sat down and I said enough of the bullsh*t, what's happening," Zekey recalled to radio personality Mr. Peter Parker. "We got big money, big business, big opportunities right now and I'm not stopping until everybody sit down right here and put everything out on the table -- I [was] sitting there and letting them know it was way bigger than this, what are [they] arguing over, nobody took a dirty Subway sandwich and smacked somebody's mom's with it...I can never give up on my family. It's 2010, time to get it in. Dipset wins again..."

In May, Jones talked with SOHH about reuniting with Cam.

"Nah, I love [Diplomatic Immunity questions]. Ask me some more. We comin' to kill. You heard me? I don't know what been going on in the rap game but I know what's about to go on in the rap game. Shouts to Killa, shouts to Juelz, shouts to Freekey Zeekey. Dipset 'fo life. Holla at us. Yes [a deal] is [on the table]. Where the money at? Nah, its never about money 'cause we got money but we want more money so who got the money? Who got the mottz?"

Jones hit up Twitter to express his excitement over the reunion cut.

Last month, Jones talked with SOHH about reuniting with Cam.

The reunion caught the attention of close associates like Dame Dash.

"I'm more happy than anything that they're friends -- that they were able to salvage their friendship, if that's the case," Dame said in an interview. "I think they're better than me for that: being smart enough and humble enough to apologize to each other and move forward. I really do hope that where I failed to be the right example, that they can be that. You always want the people ahead of you to do better than you anyway. For that, I gotta give them props for being men above anything."

The track marks the first official Dipset record since Jim Jones and Cam'ron parted ways in 2007 over internal differences.

Cam'ron Protege Amped Over Dipset Reunion, "We About To Take Over"

Cam'ron protege Vado has shared his reaction to the recent news of his boss and Jim Jones coming together for a Dipset reunion.

Vado also said that he knew about the reunion before the big announcement was made this April.

"Cam sat me down, he told me what's going on and what's about to happen and I felt it was a great look for Harlem. Then to top it off, you're adding a new artist to it, you feel me? So I told Cam it sounded like a great look and we about to take over. I'm behind whatever Cam do, no homo, 'cause if it wasn't for him, I wouldn't be here...Like a week before Miss Info had put it out. I was hearing it through the grapevine but me and him never spoke on it. One day he asked me to come to his house because he lives down the road from me in Edgewater. So I went to his crib, we sat and he asked me how I felt about it and I said that's a good look. I mean me being from Harlem, I want to do this music right. I want to big up my borough. I want to be with cats from my town that could solidify me."

In mid-May, Juelz Santana spoke on learning about the Dipset reunion.

"Cam and Jim have definitely spoke, me and Jim have talked about putting everything together and putting the past behind us," Juelz told radio personality Angie Martinez. "At the end of the day, I'm willing to be a big person and put whatever I got to put to the side and if the fans want an album, we can do that...I was like a fan finding out, because it was like, 'Oh word, that's what's going on?' I hadn't talked to Jim when it first happened -- I kinda heard it through the Internet and then it was the same type of way, then I spoke with Jim...I'm happy that they were able to do that."

Roc-A-Fella co-founder Damon "Dame" Dash also explained his feelings on the reunion.

In April, Jones confirmed re-connecting with Killa after distancing themselves from one another for over three years.

"I heard about the announcement," Jones said referring to his reunion. "I heard there's two gentlemen that put aside their differences and things like that. That's kinda good for the rap culture. I'm glad two young gentlemen as theyself get money and could put their differences aside and say they're gonna do another album for the people. Big up to them...I'm waiting to hear the next press release or the next cover or maybe song, I'm waiting like everybody. [laughs] These guys are good, Dipset."
