Jae Millz Breaks Silence On NJ Arrest, "I Was Speeding, On The Phone & Did An Illegal Turn"
Young Money's Jae Millz addressed last week's arrest which caused him to miss the XXL Magazine Freshmen 2010 concert in New York City.
According to Millz, he was caught by New Jersey police after making an illegal turn while driving.
"Actually it was Cam'ron's idea for me to come out at the XXL concert," Millz explained in an interview. "Once he got the word that they wanted him to host it and then he spoke to whoever he spoke to that said he could bring Vado out, he told Vado it would be a good idea to bring me out to do whatever songs we got and for me to close the show with Lemonade. In all honesty I wasn't really thinking about no type of confrontation or none of that... But on the way there I got arrested on some bullsh*t. I was on my way to the Highline Ballroom and I was driving without my license on me. Cops pulled me over in Jersey as I was leaving my crib and I had just changed all my clothes in a rush, and I left all my stuff in the pockets of my other jeans. I was speeding, I was on the phone and I did an illegal turn, so once he asked me for my license that I didn't have, it was over. So that's how that situation went. It's all good though, I'm out obviously so I'm straight."
Reports on his arrest began to circulate online on April Fools' Day last week.
Jae Millz who was supposed to appear alongside Cam'ron and Vado instead spent 2 hours in jail. According to Jae Millz, who told his story on Nicki Minaj's Ustream show and Twitter, he was driving through Teaneck, New Jersey on his way to aconcert when he was arrested for driving without having his driver's license in his possession.
Assuring fans the situation was not a prank, Jae confirmed his arrest on Twitter.
"F*ck ALL New Jersey Cops!!! Especially the Teaneck Police Department!!!! They just f*cked up my whole nite!! Smh," he wrote late Wednesday night. "I just spent my last 2 hours in a punk a** NJ jail cell!!!!!.. Shoutout 2 Officer J.Abraham Jr for totally f*cking up my night!! Well since now the surprise is ruined!! Might as well let yall kno @Mr_Camron & @VADO_MH was bringing me out 2nite.. Smh punk a** cop had the nerve 2 ask me was my jewelry & Louis Vuitton belt & wallet real!!! smh bet u wish it wasn't!!! RT @PrinceDreManX @JAE_MILLZlmfao was it the fat indian cop named abrahim?
The rapper stirred controversy earlier in the week after making controversial statements about XXL Magazine's Freshmen 2010 list.
"I don't feel no sort of way about me not being in the Top 10 but can't no n*gga tell me that my n*gga Vado ain't supposed to be on that cover or on the flip cover of that XXL Top 10 Freshmen issue," Millz said in an interview. "Can't nobody tell me that, and if you do want to argue with me, you can argue with me about anything because I only know five n*ggas out of the ten n*ggas on that cover. And my ears [are] to the streets...I'm not even gonna say the name of the n*ggas I know, that's gonna single n*ggas out or whatever, but n*ggas know whose supposed to be on that cover and n*ggas know who ain't supposed to be on that f*cking cover."
