Nas Strikes Back At Kelis' $11 Mil Claims, "I Did Not Receive Even Half"

Grammy-nominated rapper Nasir "Nas" Jones has responded to recent claims by estranged wife Kelis who is requesting he pay nearly $20,000 a month for child support.

Responding to allegations of signing an $11 million Def Jam album deal, Nas has revealed his monthly income.

Nas fired back in legal papers, "I did not receive even half that amount"... claiming it's more like $4 mil. Nas claims his income is declining, and he's only pulling in $147,165 a month. As for what he spends ... $71,371.96 a month, which includes $10,000 a month in clothing/hair/toiletries/personal effects. Kelis, who is about to give birth to their child, claims Nas hasn't paid a penny for child or spousal support since he left her. Nas, who says he wants to be "fully involved" in the parenting of their child, claims he's agreed to pay $350 for a stroller, $450 for a baby sling and $1,598 for two cribs. Nas thinks $5,000 a month is reasonable for child support since the kid will just be a newborn.

He recently wrote via a blog entry and broke down his opinion of a father's worth.

"Right now I'm shouting out to real dads," he wrote, unmodified. "Some are great role models with real academic achievements. Some are not. Some are no longer alive. Some fathers are locked up, but they are praying for their kids and hoping to be on the streets soon and be betters dads 1 day. We deserve the love!!! Becuz we don't even expect it, we do what we do regardless! With no signs of a reward for it. We put up with everything, standing true to what's real and letting life take its course protecting our household, our woman, our children, our family...Biggest Shout To My Son On The Way!! Salute!!!I It's a GREAT DAY!!!"

She filed paperwork against Nas earlier this year.

Kelis, expected to deliver their first child next month, said in a court filing she wants her soon-to-be ex-husband to give her $20,000 a month for baby supplies. The "Bossy" singer said a baby nurse, nanny and other staff, as well as strollers, cribs and other baby supplies for homes in Los Angeles and New York, cost money. Kelis, 29, who grew up in Harlem, said she hasn't toured in more than a year and relies on Nas, 35, to maintain her lifestyle.

She has also alleged they both held different bank accounts throughout the course of their marriage.

During the same period, Nas released a number of albums and wrote songs for film soundtracks, his estranged wife wrote in her statement to the court. She added that the pair maintained separate bank accounts during their marriage. Kelis has also asked for additional funds to cover medical expenses related to the birth and her child and maintaining their residences.

Keep ya head up Nas.
