Jadakiss On "Champ Is Here 3" Mixtape, "It's Only Right That I Step In & Fill That [Music] Void" [Video]
The LOX's Jadakiss has confirmed that his upcoming Champ Is Here Part 3 mixtape will drop at the beginning of next month.
According to Kiss, the underground release was inspired by his fans.
"Yeah Champ Is Here Part 3, coming May 1st," Jada promised. "That's the day of the Floyd Mayweather and Shane Mosley fight, I thought that would be an appropriate time to release the part three of The Champ Is Here [series]...I just try to give you, I don't try to get out of my element. What really made me do the tape, I was in Dallas and a few other places and people were like, 'Yo Kiss, we need some of that music, we need some of that other type of music,' so I feel it's only right that I step in and fill that void. I don't try and go out of my limit or over exert myself with what I do. Try to keep it real, rugged, something for the ladies, something for the young people, something for the thugs -- hopefully it comes out great."
Last week, Kiss wrote via Twitter and announced the mixtape would be dropping.
"YO LETS START THIS TRENDING TOPIC #THECHAMPISHERE3 AH-HAA!!," he wrote late Saturday (March 27) night. "HARDEST MIXTAPE OF 2010 #THECHAMPISHERE3 #THECHAMPISHERE3 LETS GET THIS TRENDING TOPIC GOIN D-BLOCK!!! #THECHAMPISHERE3 WHO YALL WANNA HEAR ON THERE WIT ME? #THECHAMPISHERE3 MAY 1ST AFTER THE MAYWEATHER FIGHT #THECHAMPISHERE3 LETS GET THIS TRENDING TOPIC!! Rap veteran Scarface is currently prepping the release of his first-ever underground project called Dope Man Music.
"I'm a free agent," he said in an interview. "I always wanted to drop a mixtape on my own. So I just said, 'Let's drop an independent mixtape.' I feel that I should be as an adult and musician and pioneer -- that's what they call me...I feel that I need to move on to another stage with the way I deliver my music to the public. I got a lot of sh*t and I'm using about three percent of what I know about music. I'm not using it all. I'm music. I can play that sh*t long enough for a real musician to catch it and feel me, where I'm going, and we make magic like that."
Jada's Champ Is Here Part 2 dropped online around February 2009.
Sorry for the thousand posts today, I promise this will be the last. Being served up as a prelude to The Last Kiss, this mixtape is actually a sequel to the tape Jadakiss and Green Lantern put out in 2005, The Champ Is Here. If this one is anything like the last, then we are in for a real treat.
