Game Paints "R.E.D." Summer, New Album Delayed To June

West Coast rapper Game's R.E.D. Album is reportedly scheduled to drop this summer.

According to reports, the Black Wall Street leader's latest effort will drop June 15th.

It's almost Game time. After a few setbacks, Game's album finally has a new release date. The Compton MC's fourth LP The R.E.D. Album is scheduled to drop June 15, Rap-Up.com has learned. A video for the Cool & Dre-produced "Shake" was shot earlier this year at several locations, including Dr. Dre's mansion and Travis Barker's studio.

Game recently talked about his album's producers and missing out on an opportunity to link with DJ Premier.

"I feel great about this album," he said in an interview. "It's back full-force Aftermath and I'm conjoined with Star Trak. I got this colorful movement over here where it's beautiful music on this side [with Star Trak] -- then when I need to go dark or super grown and sexy, I got Dre over here. The combination is crazy -- mixed in with a Cool & Dre track and RZA track and all the sh-- I been doing. The only person I'm upset I didn't work with on this album is DJ Premier. I feel his sh-- would have been perfect for this all-star producer cast that I have. One Premier track would have did me just fine. I would have murdered that sh--. But we ain't get it in, 'cause he was doing a whole bunch of sh-- for Christina Aguilera. I'm just Game. So I gotta just wait for the next album."

Last year, Cool & Dre talked about working on Game's new album.

"It's a f*cking great experience working with The Game," Dre said agreeing with Cool. "To know that you have someone that you consider family and the music you guys make goes, every time. Every time, it's just a great chemistry. Like 'Hate It Or Love It,' it went huge. Our first number one record of our career. 'My Life,' Top 10. 'Big Dreams,' a record that didn't get no push, f*cking charted. He's dope, the new album is so retarded. We did some sh*t, we're going up there this week. We did a couple new records. We're trying to completely f*cking produce the whole thing, but you know, it's tough. People will step up their level of sh*t for Game. So you know, it's dope because it forces us to step it up...It's dope because he goes in there and writes a f*cking classic record. You know what makes Game dope? He respects the art form, he loves hip-hop so much. Like he respects classic records."

The rapper also said he saw R.E.D. being one of his most lyrical projects to date.

"The album will be out later this year," Game said in an interview last July. "I know peoplesay it all the time, this album re-rooted me, took me back to The Documentary days and this might be my hardest-spitting album. Can't wait to finish that, the anticipation level is through the roof. I'ma give the people what they need."
