Plies' "Goon Affliated" Projected To Sell 65K In First-Week Sales
Southern rapper Plies' Goon Affiliated is expected to sell up to 65,000 copies in its first-week on store shelves.
Based on one-day reports, Plies will also out-sell Gym Class Heros Travie McCoy's Lazarus.
Atlantic rappers Plies could do as much as 55-65k, while Capitol Nashville/EMI veteran Dierks Bentley's new bluegrass album, Up on the Ridge, should sell in the 40-45k range. Also eyeing Top 50 debuts on next Tuesday's chart are Curb's Clay Walker (17-20k), Fueled by Ramen's Travie McCoy, moonlighting front man for Gym Class Heroes (15-18k).
Plies' new record features guest appearances by Young Jeezy and Keri Hilson.

The rapper previously spoke on the title's overall inspiration.
Last year, Plies explained how he and his brother, Big Gates, decided on the album's title. "For me, we felt Goon Affiliated wasn't too gangsta, wasn't too soft," he told Mixtape Daily. "It was right in the middle. Kids in the suburbs could have goon friends and be goon affiliated. You could be a street cat and not call yourself a 'goon' but have goon homeboys and be goon affiliated. Or you could be a goon and be goon affiliated. It's a whole diverse situation for me."
Outside of rap, Plies recently said he wanted to lock in a collaboration with Scottish singer Susan Boyle.
The Goon was not joking when he told UsMagazine.com that he wants to record a track with the "Britain's Got Talent" runner-up. "I always bring this up to people and they think I'm just teasin'‚ but Susan Boyle is probably at the top of my list," he revealed. Plies, a fan of the Scottish sensation, sees the pairing as a strategic move. "A lot of people look at that as a far-fetched feature or collaboration. From a business standpoint, I watched what she was able to do and create through her own story and it always interested me."
