Erykah Badu Rolls Film For Rick Ross, Jadakiss & T.I.'s "Maybach Music III"
Soulful singer Erykah Badu will direct the upcoming "Maybach Music III" music video for Rick Ross, Jadakiss and T.I.
Ross first broke the news via a few Twitter posts.
@fatbellybella will be directing the video#maybachmusic lll ft.@tip,@Therealkiss....#classic," he wrote this week.
Badu also confirmed the remarks by re-tweeting Ross' posts.
"RT @rickyrozay: @fatbellybella will be directing the video#maybachmusic lll ft.@tip,@Therealkiss....#classic," she wrote yesterday.
"@rickyrozay peace and light baba"
The singer is one of various guest features on Ross' upcoming Telfon Don album.

In early June, Ross revealed his involvement on Badu's "Window Seat" remix.
"I had to come get the queen," Ross said about the video. "They had her boxed up." The clip starts with Ross coming to get the Grammy-winning songstress from jail. "It was only right. I was swerving through Dallas in that Porsche Panorama turbo. I had to slide up on her, scoop her up. We got back to business. We went on another caper...It's basically, we continuing where the first 'Window Seat' ended," he added. "Where she was assassinated and ultimately scooped up and arrested. We continuing from there. She's got a dope cut on her album called 'Get Money.' Y'all need to download and check it out. It's the next single. And it's the bridge between the assassination, going into the 'Window Seat' remix, me doing my sh--. Then we ultimately going into 'Get Money,' which I feel is my favorite record off of [New Amerykah Part Two: Return of] the Ankh."

Erykah Badu Pleads Not Guilty To Nude "Window Seat" Disorderly Conduct Charge
Soulful singer Erykah Badu reportedly pleaded not guilty to a charge of disorderly conduct for filming a portion of her "Window Seat" music video nude in Texas this week.
According to reports, the singer's plea was made earlier this week.
Erykah Badu entered a plea of not guilty Wednesday to the charge of disorderly conduct in relation to a video in which she strips in downtown Dallas' Dealey Plaza. In March, the 39-year-old Dallas singer went nude in public for her video called "Window Seat." Badu said she picked Dealey Plaza since it was one of the most popular places in the city. Badu recently addressed being fined $500 by Texas police over the video.
"I just wanted to bring dialogue to it. And I did. And they are still talking about it. And as long as they are talking about it, we know that they are being exposed to it. To tell you the truth, I haven't received a letter in the mail or nothing. All I know is the Dallaschief of the police went to the record store last week and bought my album.
She also admitted to predicting how much dialogue the video would spark.
"I thought it was a move for women and men and children who feel they weren't good enough. This is just me, I'm good enough.' I felt it was important enough to do. More pros than cons. I know it was a shocking thing I did. I expected it to provoke dialogue, and it's an important statement to make. It's about freeing oneself of the layers and layers of things that we have learned as Americans in this country. At the point of becoming naked and individual and free, either you're assassinated spiritually or mentally by the group or worse. The words coming out of my head after I was figuratively and literally assassinated was 'groupthink.' Groupthink is a term coined by Irving Janis, 1972. It pretty much states what happens when a character or person is ostracized for thinking out of what the consensus is. He or she is pretty much thinking [more] with a heart than with loyalty. It's an important thing. It's art. It's performance art. Art is supposed to spark dialogue and ring an awakening of some sort."
Despite the message, Badu was charged with disorderly conduct by Dallas, Texas police.
Sgt. Warren Mitchell said Friday the decision to cite Badu for disorderly conduct -- a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of up to $500 -- came after witness Ida Espinosa, 32, of Vernon, offered a sworn statement to police Thursday. Espinosa declined to comment to The Associated Press on Friday. "Having a fact witness that was there is what let us file the charges," Mitchell said. "After much discussion, we feel that these charges best fit her conduct. She disrobed in a public place without regard to individuals and small children who were close by." Mitchell said the department has had "people calling from all across the country to express their concern."

The singer's latest album, which features "Window Seat," landed on the sales charts this week.
Soulful singer Erykah Badu's New Amerykah Part Two also debuted on the charts this week at No. 4. After a week in stores, the Southern crooner's new album has sold 110,400 copies to date.

Erykah Badu Charged W/ Disorderly Conduct For Nude Video Shoot
Singer Erykah Badu has been charged with disorderly conduct for recording her latest music video, "Window Seat," nude in Dallas, Texas last month.
According to reports, Badu will receive a $500 fine for her actions on March 13.
Sgt. Warren Mitchell said Friday the decision to cite Badu for disorderly conduct -- a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of up to $500 -- came after witness Ida Espinosa, 32, of Vernon, offered a sworn statement to police Thursday. "I followed the Twitter feed and her saying that the naked God is our purist God and if you have a problem with nudity, etcetera," said Leslie. "There's overtones of indecent exposure and the legalities of it, but I would want to know from Erykah exactly when she saw the Matt and Kim video, what inspired her to attach this video to the 'Window Seat' song, you know? I'm curious...The message [brings] some insight to the video. I just felt like there's a lot more. I know some people make that argument, 'Oh, is it artistic or is it just some lewd publicity stunt?' I think it's artistic, and it's very serious artistic risk. So when someone takes that type of artistic risk, I'm interested in the discussion."
The video's director Chike broke down the underlying theme behind Badu's visual earlier this week.
"It was also to tie [the JFK assassination] in," Chike added. "He was assassinated there for what reason? There were reasons for his assassination that dealt with him doing things that went against the norm for positive reasons. People try to assassinate your character when you try to step against the grain. That's where the gunshot in the video came. Also, she was inspired by the Matt and Kim video [for 'Lessons Learned'], where they did something shocking in the end. I've actually been seeing way more positive reactions than I have negative reactions. That's cool to see, just in the times today. I feel like five years ago, it might have been different. Society has grown, so we accept something like this more than normal, than we usually would."

Ryan Leslie On Erykah Badu's Nude "Window Seat" Video, "It's A Very Serious Artistic Risk"
R&B hitmaker Ryan Leslie has shared his reaction to Erykah Badu's new "Window Seat" music video and explained why there is a thin line between lewd and artistic.
Leslie thinks that Badu should open up more about the video's inspiration.
"I followed the Twitter feed and her saying that the naked God is our purist God and if you have a problem with nudity, etcetera," said Leslie. "There's overtones of indecent exposure and the legalities of it, but I would want to know from Erykah exactly when she saw the Matt and Kim video, what inspired her to attach this video to the 'Window Seat' song, you know? Bow Wow Falls In Love W/ Erykah Badu's "Window Seat" Video, "Man, If I Was Just 10 Years Older"
Rapper Bow Wow has reacted to singer Erykah Badu's new "Window Seat" music video which features her disrobing in public.
Writing via Twitter, Bow Weezy also imagined a relationship with the singer.
"I jus gotta new crush. its @fatbellybella (Erykah Badu) she is too fine in her new video. Man if i was jus 10 yrs older. :) look sexy," he wrote Sunday (March 28) evening. "#iknewitwaslove when i saw @fatbellybella New video "Window Seat" @IAM_BART bro i know she can put me up on game. i could learn from her. she a have me reading and learning sh*t about life im so down. gnr"
Over the weekend, the video began to circulate through various music blogs.
Erykah Badu's official video for "Window Seat" is finally here. And homegirl strips down to nothing. And still kept it creative. Her album leaked as well and folks are loving it. Check out the vid. You feelin' it?

The singer plans to release new music and her latest album, New Amerykah Part Two, tomorrow.
"The Internet has afforded us with a way to not limit ourselves to the album project," Badu told Billboard recently. "There are so many ways to put out music now without having it just being a part of an album." A number of websites will premiere each version of "Jump" exclusively throughout the month of March. Erykah Badu's anticipated album, "New Amerykah Part Two: Return of the Ankh," is due in stores and at digital retail March 30.
