Kid Cudi Escapes New York City Arrest For Bonnaroo, "I Really Wanted To Be Here Tonight"
Rapper Kid Cudi managed to bounce back from reportedly being arrested in New York City yesterday (June 11) on a drug and destruction charge to perform at the Bonnaroo Music Festival concert hours later.
According to reports, Cudi was busted Friday and still managed to travel out to Tennessee.
Kid Cudi arrived in Manchester, Tenn. late last night (June 12) and made it onstage for his scheduled 2 a.m. slot at Bonnaroo, despite being arrested in New York City earlier in the day. According to the AP, Cudi was arrested Friday on charges of criminal mischief and criminal possession of a controlled substance. Yet despite the arrest, Cudi took the stage early Saturday, saying "I really wanted to be here tonight." Cudi is expected to join Jay-Z for tonight's headlining spot at the festival.

TMZ has learned Kid Cudi was arrested in NYC today for felony criminal mischief and possession of a controlled substance. Sources say Kid took a 24-year-old woman's phone and slammed it to smithereens. He also allegedly broke the door of her apartment off its hinges. Cops arrived and found a glass bottle of a controlled substance.
Cudi joins scheduled performers including Jay-Z and Stevie Wonder for this year's event.
Headliners will include Jay-Z, Stevie Wonder, Dave Matthews Band and Kings of Leon, in what is currently the Grammy-winning band's only scheduled U.S. show of the year. Bands already announced include Ingrid Michaelson, The xx, Regina Spektor, Steve Martin & The Steep Canyon Rangers, Wale, Mayer Hawthorne & The County, Phoenix, Weezer, OK GO, Baroness, John Fogerty, Medeski Martin and Wood, ISIS, Bassnectar, Blues Traveler, Jeff Beck, Avett Brothers and Chromeo with Daryl Hall. The Flaming Lips with Stardeath and White Dwarfs will perform Pink Floyd's "The Dark Side of the Moon" in a special late night set.
Bonnaroo is known for featuring a variety of different live music performances.
The main attractions of the festival are the multiple stages of live music, featuring a diverse array of musical styles including indie rock,world music, hip hop, jazz, americana, bluegrass, country music, folk, gospel, reggae, electronica, and other alternative music.
No further details have been revealed as of now.
