Jay-Z To Release Album Hits Catalogue Next Month

Grammy-winning rapper Jay-Z will reportedly be dropping his album hits catalogue next month with the release of The Hits Collection Volume 1.

The compilation project is expected to land in stores June 29th.

The man has a catalog worth at least a couple of greatest hits albums. The first volume will be released on June 29th and rumoredly also features 1 or 2 new recordings. Visit the official website, JayZHitsCollection.com, and catch a sneak peek at the artwork that I managed to grab below.

While details are still developing, the first volume will reportedly feature tracks from his Blueprint III and Black Album projects.

This website promises an album called The Hits Collection, Vol.1 due June 29. It doesn't specify a tracklist, but an audio player at the top of the page might offer some indication of what songs will be included. It's got "Public Service Announcement", "D.O.A.", "Run This Town", "Empire State of Mind", and "Where I'm From", which means it's pretty weighted toward recent material. (Three Blueprint 3 singles? Really?) A photo on the page seems to indicate that the collection will be available in multiple formats.

Next month Jay will also be dropping his new Roc Nation Aviator headphones line.

We know that competition can get tense between hip hop artists, but Jay-Z is obviously jealous of the Beats by Dr. Dre's success to go out and launch his own headphones. Jay-Z and his company Roc Nation, has collaborated with Skullcandy, to develop the Roc Nation Aviator headphones that are going to be available in white, brown, and black. The headphones promise Platinum sound performance via a 40mm full-range enhanced audio driver. The headphones also offer a contoured fit with an aviator inspired spring hinge. They also sport a tangle-free cable (hmm, that sounds familiar) which uses the Skullcandy Mic3 which works as an in-line music and mic control.

Jay released a statement speaking on the motivation behind his upcoming line earlier in the week.

"Our passion is creating amazing music," Jay-Z said in a statement. "We're dedicated to delivering the best in live performances. Now with the Roc Nation/Skullcandy partnership, we're offering the best way for people to experience the soundtrack of their lives."
