Nas' Lawyer On Marijuana Bust, "He Has Not Been Charged W/ Any Offense"
New York rapper Nasir "Nas" Jones' attorney has updated the public on the popular emcee's marijuana bust from earlier this fall and confirmed all charges have been dismissed.
According to lawyer John C. Mayoue, Nas is now in the clear over his September arrest.
A lawyer for Grammy award nominated rapper Nas refutes reports of the rapper's DUI charges from a Sept. 10 arrest. John C. Mayoue represents the New York. native. "Nas has not been charged with any offense whatsoever, including DUI," said Mayoue. "The state's own lab results were negative for any drugs, including marijuana."
Footage of the incident landed onto the Internet Friday (December 4) morning.
TMZ has obtained police dash cam footage showing rapper Nas failing several DUI field sobriety tests back in September. He was cleared of the charges -- but does he look sober to you? But you can see Nas wobble during a balance test and take the wrong number of steps during the "walk the line" test -- yet still, authorities decided it wasn't enough evidence to convict.
He admitted to being under the influence of marijuana when he was originally busted.
When rapper Nas was arrested for DUI this past fall, he was driving under the influence of marijuana. The star, 36 was taken in by Henry County cops near his Georgia home on Sept. 10, and according to a police report, he admitted that he was smoking weed at a friend's house before the arrest.
However, charges in the case were then reportedly dropped.
The case was dismissed after the artist's drug test came back negative, even after Nas had admitted to officials and reporters that he had been smoking marijuana before being pulled over.
