Lil Wayne's "Carter IV" Will Be Life-Changing, Tha Bizness Producer Says
Tha Bizness' Dow Jones recently gave his opinion on Lil Wayne's forthcoming Tha Carter IV album and said it will change people's lives.
According to the hitmaker, Wayne out-performs his Grammy-winning Carter III on the new album.
"Carter IV's gonna change your life," Dow Jones said in an interview. "Wayne is gonna change your life. That's all I'm gonna tell you. Be ready for that. It's something you've never seen before. It's incredible. When we finally heard a couple of the joints he did, we were just like, 'Man.' We thought Carter III was incredible and he took it a couple of steps up. One thing about Wayne, he's a workaholic. There's very few people we've been in the studio with that work harder than him aside from T-Pain, Wayne's probably there...Carter IV was before he went to jail -- as soon as he gets out, it's time to cook it back up. He's got so many records. He'll do maybe an album's worth of stuff in a day. You'll never know how much Wayne's gonna do."
Producer Street Runner recently said Wayne's Carter IV will have a soulful vibe.
"I did a really dope joint for the ladies with a soulful sample track that has a feature on the hook," he revealed in an interview. "I don't want to go into to many details about the record cause someinternet monster might find it and try to leak it. I got another record that my dude wrote the hook on that almost feels like a Jay-Z "What More Can I Say" type track. I think I got 1 other record that's pending along with those two so I just gotta see what's up. I will say Weezy is spitting that sh*t over my tracks and they are 100% Hip Hop...I heard a few joints... It's definitely what the fans want. He's just rapping and going hard on it. I think I heard maybe one rocked out track but the majority was rap/Hip Hop tracks. It should be another classic."
Prior to beginning a one-year jail sentence on a gun conviction last March, Wayne talked about his next album.
"Yeah, Tha Carter IV, interesting," Wayne told radio host Tim Westwood with a smile. "Very interesting. It's interesting, I hope so, I hope it's incredible and all those things. But like I said, I think they know the velocity of Carter IV without me even having to speak on it. I think they know what that's gonna be. It should be [a defining moment]. It should be. Honestly, it should be."
Although sentenced to a year in jail last March on a gun possession conviction, Wayne is expected to be released in November.
Lil Wayne is approximately halfway through his one-year jail sentence, which began March 8 when the superstar MC turned himself into authorities after reaching a plea deal. According to prison records accessed by MTV News, the rapper has a projected release date of November 4. Pending any violations or infractions for behavioral issues, the rapper is expected to see the light of day eight months after entering prison.
Lil Wayne's Tha Carter III earned him a Grammy for Best Rap Album for 2008 and sold over three million copies to date.
