Jacki-O Clarifies Comments About Nicki Minaj, "I'm [Not] Trying To Be Involved In Anyone's Beef"

Southern rapper Jacki-O hit up SOHH to kill a rumor that she wants to spark a beef with Young Money's leading lady, Nicki Minaj.

Jacki claimed that certain media outlets have misinterpreted her comments on the hip-hop newcomer.

"I was recently interviewed by XXL Magazine regarding Nicki Minaj and her new success in the hip hop game," Jacki told SOHH via statement. "Since then other websites have taken that portion of the story and somehow made me an ally at going at her enemies. That is not the case. I am by no means trying to be involved in anyone's beef. I've had enough beefs and I try not to entertain it. I simply feel that whomever, (male or female) when climbing the ladder to success will get rocks thrown at them, I just wanted to state that it's important to continue your journey and stay focused on your goal."

Recently, Jacki said peers were pressing for her to diss Minaj.

"A lot of people ask me about [Nicki] and I think they wanna see if I'm gonna take shots... I've never been a hater. When I came in the game I never stepped on toes. As a female, you're being competitive when you rap and you may say little things while you rappin' but to come straight out and just take shots at another female, I never did that 'cause I never felt like I had to do that. I seen her bubblin' from the beginning. She reached out to me a couple times. We never got to a chance to work, but I always had words of encouragement for her, like, "Keep doin' ya thing, and just do you." And now that I see she's doin' that, she gon' get shot at [by other people]. I say, go for it, f*ck 'em! Excuse my language, but just do you! If you look back and entertain the foolishness, then it's gonna take you off your focus, so, you know, I just say do you, and keep it moving!"

In April, Jacki also told SOHH she did not look to start beefs with artists.

"I don't hold grudges nor do I have 'beef' with anyone, although I am not a sucker," she wrote in a statement. "I understand it's all a part of the game. I don't entertain beef because it takes you off the focus of your craft. If people want to see us do a record, let's do it and if you still feel some type of way -- fine, do what you do. At the end of the day it's about giving the people what they want and making good music and money, anything else is irrelevant to me."

Although Jacki does not have issues with the rapper, artists like Khia and Gloria Velez have recently taken shots at Minaj.

"I'm in a six-speed drop and I'm sick with the clutch / I'm bout to go in on this bitch like a d*** in her guts / Come on Nicki? Is you licking or what? / How many silicone shots you gonna stick in your butt?" Gloria Velez opens the "Roger Dat" freestyle with. She goes on to throw several jabs at Minaj, poking fun at her alleged plastic surgeryenhancements, comparing her flow to a rapper with Tourette's syndrome, and even accuses her of providing sexual favors to land a record deal. "It's Glo, Murda Mami, strapped up, emergency / I wasn't gonna do it, but bitch you keep urging me / You better run and use extreme urgency / brain f***ed up, too much plastic surgery," Velez spits. "No matter how many times you bat your eye lashes / It ain't gonna take away from the fact that you trash-ess," she later raps, before adding: "Remember you came out a Lil Kim clone? / then you started sounding like your got Tourette's syndrome."
