The director of Lil Wayne and Eminem's "Drop the World" video said both artists brought their A-game to the one-day shoot.
According to director Chris Robinson, the music video should be treated with the same amount of respect as a motion picture.
"But as an artistic piece to have some magic, or if it's a mood piece or whatever way you communicate the music, you have to take two people into consideration with how you do that. And for me, I almost take it like a feature film: How did Scorsese put Jack Nicholson and Leonardo DiCaprio in the same movie?," he explained in an interview. "You got two guys who are basically huge supernovas coming together, and the way that the song is constructed is great. Because unless you see it coming, you don't know Eminem is on the track. The first two hooks and the first two verses are all Wayne, and it's kind of a surprise when Eminem comes through, and we matched it visually how Eminem enters the piece."
Details on the video shoot landed online in late January.

Cash Money Records co-founder Baby recently revealed Weezy's goal to complete multiple music videos prior to his jail sentence.
"He's shooting 'Da Da Da,' 'Ghetto Life' and two Carter IV videos," Baby revealed to radio personality Tim Westwood. "We shooting two Father Son videos -- Nicki Minaj, Tyga, Mack Maine, everybody. We shooting like 20, 30 videos just to have in the can for while he's gone...[When Wayne goes,] it's a sad day for hip-hop, period. But we won't lose anything, you know, it's personal as far as us, to a fan, it's just something else. But it's a family situation for us but we're ready for it, built for it and we just gonna rock and roll until my son gets home...This is what we do, music is our hustle and I think we got the most solid click in the business, with Young Money, Cash Money and the energy that Wayne bring, everybody knows he's the super star, the mega star of the universe. It's nothing without junior."
Young Money artists like Drake have discussed the impact Wayne's time behind bars will likely make.
"I think you'll miss everything about Wayne," Drake suggested in an interview. "I don't think there will be anybody like Lil Wayne ever again in hip-hop. He paralyzes a room when he walks into it, his wordplay, the excitement that he brings to his music. I think that for eight months a lot of us will have to work a lot harder to keep hip-hop as exciting as it's been for the last two years. He's a strong-willed guy. I can imagine it would take a toll on anybody. I just hope that he comes out for the better."
